Losing Ilya Kovalchuk means some changes to the New Jersey Devils plan of attack, but they were active this summer in their attempts to fill holes. http://www.ultraboostsuk.com/men-s-nike-shox-nz-clearance-running-shoes-white-gold.html . Top Picks: Patrik Elias, Cory Schneider Even at 37-years-old, LW Patrik Elias can provide comfortable reliability to fantasy owners, even if 36 points in 48 games last season counted as his second-lowest per-game scoring rate of the last decade. Since 2006-2007, Elias has scored 426 points, which ranks 29th and given his role as the Devils offensive leader (particularly now that Ilya Kovalchuk is gone), Elias is a safe addition as a No. 2 left winger. There is a lot to like about G Cory Schneider who has a .931 save percentage over the last three seasons, the best in hockey among goalies with at least 75 games played and, by all rights, he deserves a starting job. Trouble is, the Devils have a future Hall of Famer on the roster and still havent given the slightest indication that Schneider is the starter. On the contrary, it doesnt sound like Martin Brodeur is prepared to take a backup role and the Devils loyalty to Brodeur could shape this decision. All of this makes Schneider a risky pickup, but if you believe that he will outplay Brodeur enough to take more starts, then Schneider has the potential to provide value as a Top 10 fantasy goaltender, maybe higher depending on how quickly he takes the lead. Value Plays: Following a season in which he scored just three goals in 40 games, there is an opportunity to buy low on the value of LW Ryane Clowe. Clowe adds to his value with hits, but his value is further enhanced in leagues with penalty minutes, as hes one of five players to have at least 225 points and 450 penalty minutes. Revel in the value that you get when people write him off because of last years goal-scoring anomaly when he had a 3.4% shooting percentage, compared to a career mark of 11.2%. Unlike Clowe, RW Michael Ryder is coming off one of his better seasons. In fact, hes scored 0.76 points per game in back-to-back years, his highest rate since his rookie season (0.7Cool, yet Ryder is a potential value play because hes 33 and while hes a three-time 30-goal scorer, thats happened only once in the last six seasons. As a No. 3 right winger, he should be a capable performer. Likewise, 41-year-old RW Jaromir Jagr fits in about the same spot. He was productive last year, with 35 points in 45 games, but a playoff drought (no goals, 10 assists in 22 games) helps to sink his public perception. There is opportunity available in New Jersey for Jagr to play and fulfill a scoring role and he can still do it; not like he did at his peak, but good enough to hold down a spot on a fantasy roster. Sleepers/Breakthrough: Its difficult for the Devils centres to provide great fantasy value because they arent the same kind of offensive producers as their wingers and, with centre being such a deep position, that makes Adam Henrique and Travis Zajac effectively sleeper picks, even though they are playing down the middle on the top two lines. Henrique overachieved offensively as a rookie, in 2011-2012, crashing back to earth last year when he managed five assists (along with 11 goals) in 42 games. If he fits between Clowe and Ryder, that line could score, but maybe not enough for Henrique to be anything more than fantasy depth. Aside from 2011-2012, when he tore his Achilles tendon, C Travis Zajac has been exceptionally durable, missing a total of two games in his other six seasons, but he also appears to be miles away from the 60-point scorer that he was when he had Zach Parise on his wing. Until he shows that he can produce more offensively, and playing with Elias and Jagr could sure help, Zajac is also a fringe fantasy performer. Over the last three seasons, G Martin Brodeur has a .905 save percentage -- Steve Mason and Mathieu Garon were the only goaltenders worse with at least 100 games played -- and hes 41, so its not likely to get better, but if the Devils are insistent that Brodeur is their starter, he could have value. 36-year-old D Marek Zidlicky has an offensive track record, though he hasnt scored as often (27 points in 70 games) in New Jersey and, over the last five seasons, his minsu-52 is fifth-worst among defencemen. Perhaps hell connect with Elias and Jagr on the power play, but its also possible you can do better than a 36-year-old with declining offensive numbers. C Andrei Loktionov has 15 goals and 26 points in 87 career NHL games, including 12 points in 28 games with the Devils last season. He has some offensive promise, but probably needs to secure a spot in the top six to be relevant for fantasy owners. Same goes for Damien Brunner, who had 26 points for the Red Wings last season and is in camp on a tryout. Rookies: There dont appear to be any prime positions for rookies in the Devils lineup, but there are a couple that could challenge for time during the season. Stefan Matteau played 17 games for New Jersey last season before he was sent back to the QMJHL, which resulted in a tumultuous time in its own right. Hes a big, physical winger, but maybe not offensive enough to generate fantasy interest. D Jon Merrill didnt have the smoothest path at the University of Michigan, but he had eight points in 12 AHL games at the end of last season. The 21-year-old is big and skilled, and may need more time in the minors, but he could play a significant role for the Devils before long. Although Olivetti, a qualifier, had 13 aces, he failed to force a single break-point chance on Gasquets serve and lost his own three times. Gasquet next plays third-seeded Jerzy Janowicz of Poland, who won had 18 aces in a 6-2, 6-4 win against seventh-seeded Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France. http://www.ultraboostsuk.com/g34069-adidas-originals-stan-smith-uk-black-men-s-women-s-shoes.html . United claimed their first league win in four games before the international break, but sit a disappointing sixth in the Premier League going into Saturdays clash. Man Utd vs Arsenal November 19, 2016, 11:30am Live on Get Sky Sports Get a Sky Sports pass They are six points behind Arsenal, who are just two off leaders Liverpool, and Arsene Wengers men are unbeaten since the opening day of the season. Neville, who was heavily involved in the most fierce United v Arsenal clashes throughout the 1990s and 2000s, says the Premier League is back to a higher level, Jose Mourinho should be given plenty of time, and it is nowhere near the end for Wayne Rooney. Clashes between United and Arsenal have always been entertaining You can watch Manchester United v Arsenal live on Sky Sports 1 from 11.30am on Saturday. If Jose was happy, Id be disappointedPeople say Jose Mourinho is not so happy at the moment, and to be honest with you I would be disappointed if he was happy, with some of the performances he has seen. I think what he will be most concerned about at the moment is the inconsistency, the fact his teams performances fluctuate from being really good to being so bad.Thats the worst thing for a manager or a player - inconsistency. You want to trust your players so they can produce a high level of performance week in, week out. That doesnt mean to say you have to always be at your best, but to get a very good minimum standard. Neville says Mourinho will be disappointed with Manchester United’s inconsistency at present Actually, at the moment, you can go from a really good performance in a certain match, to a performance the week after that just drops to a standard. At the moment, he is right not to be happy, because hes seen different levels of consistency from the players, and the players who have won titles before will understand you cant drop to those levels. Youre never winning a title if youre inconsistent, and thats what hell be disappointed with. Six months half price Upgrade to Sky Sports to watch Man Utd v Arsenal on Saturday and get the first six months half price It was never going to last foreverOf course, the psychology has changed since Fergie left, the players who have been there for a while, they had one voice, they knew who was in control. Theyve now had three managers in three, four years. You know that change in direction, style of play, how each manager works, getting used to that. Its the same in any workplace. If you had three different bosses in your company in three years, you wouldnt know whether you were coming or going, and thats the same out there. Its important that the club can stick by Jose for three years, let him do the work. Its going to be tough, you can see that at the moment. Highlights: Swansea 1-3 Manchester Utd The other clubs are spending big money, have their house in order, good teams as well. And Manchester United are not going to have it all their own way unfortunately. It was great watching the club win titles and being part of that all the time, but the reality of it is that it was never going to go on forever, this period was always going to come, but theyre going to have to fight through the difficult times, and do it in the right way if you like, and that means stability with the management team.Let Jose do his jobI think were judging Jose Mourinho on a moment. You hear ridiculous things like: Has he lost his magic? He won the league 18 months ago, hes one of the most successful managers of all time and hes only young in management terms. If Manchester United go and win the next four matches, Mourinho will be a genius again, theyll say, and were very quick these days to shoot managers, coaches, players down, particularly those who have built up enough credit to prove it over a long period of time. This Saturday sees Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger resume their rivalry as Manchester Utd host Arsenal live on Sky Sports. http://www.ultraboostsuk.com/cheap-adidas-gazelle-og-online-mens-trainers-university-red-white-metallic-gold.html. Ultimately, let him do his job, let him deliver. Theres nothing to suggest hes not going to deliver here yet, in my mind. Theres evidence to suggest its going to be tough, tougher than he thought.Premier League back to a higher levelI think there have been some brilliant games this season; theyve been competitive and ferocious. I think this season, with the introduction of new managers, there seems to be a higher standard, and I can see the Premier League getting back to a higher level in this first three months of this season.I hope this Manchester United v Arsenal game on Saturday is a real game. A proper game, where there is that real competitive edge, with both teams going for it with great football. I also want to see great organisation, with not a lot being given away. Highlights: Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham The 8-2 games, or the 5-0, 6-0 games, in some ways theyre not that good a game, because what you really want is for it to be a massive struggle between the top teams, and thats what Id hope on SaturdayIts not the end for RooneyAt the moment, the way Rooney fits into the jigsaw is that he plays some games and doesnt play others. Hes arrived at that period in his career where ultimately, thats how its going to be for him.But thats not a criticism, thats just a happening. Thats what happens to all players as they get into their 30s, they dont play every single week Wednesday-Saturday, Wednesday-Saturday. Neville says Rooney is going through what a lot of players have experienced His performances havent been up to his level for the past eight to 12 months. Mourinho has left him out in the past months, hes put other players in, and its for Wayne Rooney to fight his way back into the team. But its not the end of Wayne Rooney, I just believe hes entering into a different phase of his career where hes not going to play every week, and his contributions are going to be different than they were previously. Why are we surprised? Its happened to Gerrard, Terry, Giggs, Scholes, Lampard. Historically, over the years, why are we surprised all of a sudden that another great Premier League player gets into his 30s and this happens. Why are we surprised by it? We shouldnt be. Neville says there seems to be a higher standard in the Premier League this season Its a personal choice that United players have had to decide previously; are they happy with those 25-30 games a season, or do they want to get out and play every week?Thats something Wayne Rooney has to decide over the next six, 12 months or whatever that will be. Its not a choice Manchester United can make, as long as he has a contract. Its his choice. But youve got to remember, hes only been out of the team for four weeks. Hell still be in the mindset of fighting to get back into the team and playing every game.Carrick makes things tickCarrick is almost never going to be star of the show, but I always get the feeling that when Michael is in the team, the team play better. That was the feeling when I was there, and since Ive left. Michael Carrick has performed well in recent weeks He has the habit of bringing the best out of other players. Thats through the control he brings, the composure, the experience, the defensive and positional play that some people dont always spot because its not a sliding tackle or aggressive header. You wont find many people that have a bad word to say about him, hes a fantastic player, and the big thing is he makes the team tick a lot better.Id be surprised if we didnt see him play on Saturday. Weve had an international break where he isnt involved, hes had the time for preparation, and could be important for United on Saturday.Upgrade to Sky Sports now to watch Man Utd v Arsenal this Saturday and get the first six months half price!
